Joshua (Josh) Colby Barton's Obituary
Joshua (Josh) Colby Barton was born in Marianna, Florida on June 30, 1983. Josh went home to be with the Lord on November 30, 2022.
He is survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Christa Barton, daughter Elizabeth Guerrero, daughter Emma Barton, son Brecken Barton, and son Alexander (Mac) Barton; Mother Gloria Pitcher; Father Huston Barton and Step-Mother Lynne Barton; Sisters Cassandra (Cassie) Kent and Sylvia Etters; Step-Sisters Loren Carter and Amanda Sims; Along with many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Josh was raised in Altha, Fl where he graduated from Altha High School in 2001 and went on to graduate from FAMU with a doctorate in pharmacy in 2007. Josh was an avid sports fan and excelled in all athletics. He played rugby for Florida State University and coached softball at Gainesville High School, recreational softball, travel softball, t-ball, little league baseball, and soccer.
Josh married the love of his life in 2007 and settled in Gainesville, FL raising their family and was employed at the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Josh loved Jesus and his family dearly and was a very kind and generous man. He had a positive impact on so many and was loved by all who knew him. His loss is unimaginable and he will be missed tremendously.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 10, 2022 at 11:00 A.M., at Greenhouse Church, 11200 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, with Pastor Renee Handtke, officiating. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, beginning at 10:00 A.M. Interment will follow in Countryside Cemetery.
