Joseph J. Hatch Jr.'s Obituary
Joseph J. Hatch, Jr., age 87 of Gainesville, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2018 at Terrace Health and Rehabilitation Center. Joseph was born April 22, 1931 in Hatch Bend, Florida to Joseph J. Sr. and Renda Bush Hatch. He was known as “The Bread Man”. He was in the bread business for over 60 years. Joseph was a member of University City Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by brothers, Buck Hatch and Otto Townsend and sisters, Pat Gammel and Violet Connelly.
Joseph is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Sikes Hatch; children, Charlene and husband, Don Thomas of Gainesville, FL and Joey Hatch and fiancée, Cheri Wallschlager of Branford; grandchildren, Samantha Hart and Amanda Houle and fiancé, Michael Bryan; great grandsons, Cody, Aidan and Chase; brothers, Cleo Hatch and Otis Townsend and sisters, Caris Cannon, Wanda Simmons, Ila Hammel and Wilma Emrich.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 am at the University City Church of Christ, 4626 NW 8th Avenue, Gainesville, with Rich Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery in Branford. The family will receive friends Friday, May 4, 2018, 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street.
