Josefina Rivera's Obituary
Josefina Rivera, age 89 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, January 30, 2017 in North Florida Rehabilitation and Specialty Care Center. She was born May 5, 1927 in Arecibo, Puerto Rico to Manuel and Emilia Collazo Cortes. A professional seamstress, she loved to sew. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Josefina was of the Catholic faith.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Armando Rivera. She is survived by her son, Armando M. Rivera, daughter-in-law, Tiffany Rivera, and grandchildren, Benjamin age 20, Brycelynn age 8 and Brielle age 6.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in E.T. York Hospice Chapel on 39th Avenue. A burial will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Boulevard, Gainesville, FL 32606.
