Jose Ricardo "Ricky" Ortiz, III's Obituary
Jose Ricardo “Ricky” Ortiz, III, 26, lifelong resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Monday, February 13, 2017.
Ricky was born in Gainesville, Florida on May 4, 1990, and had lived here his entire life. He graduated from Buchholz High School, Class of 2008, where he participated in wrestling and lacrosse. After graduation, he attended Santa Fe College and had enlisted in the U. S. Army Reserves. He was most recently employed by Advance Auto Parts, and was a member of the Queen of Peace Catholic Community.
He is survived by his daughters, Kylee M. and Kenlee M. Epes and Sofia I. Fernandez; his parents, Jose and Lillian Ortiz; grandfathers, Ricardo Ortiz and Marcos Laguna; sisters, Elizabeth M. Otte and Kristina I. Ortiz; along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday February 18, 2017 at 11 A. M., in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, with Fr. Ron Camarda, celebrant. Interment will follow in Forest Meadows Central, 4100 NW 39th Ave at 1:30 P.M. The family will receive friends Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5 to 7 P. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Go-Fund page to assist his daughters, gofundme.com/ricky-ortiz.
