Jonathan "JP" Prior's Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jonathan “JP” Prior. He was welcomed home by Jesus on Friday, September 5, 2025. He was born on October 2, 2007, at UF Shands in Gainesville, Florida. His life was tragically cut short on September 5, 2025, and he is survived by his family: Father John Alan Prior, Mother Jennifer Dawn Prior, Sister Natasha Pearl Do Prior, Brothers Joseph Allen Kerstiens, Jacob Steven Kerstiens, and his youngest brother, Joshua David Prior.
Jonathan was an integral part of Santa Fe High School as a senior and a weightlifting team member (also a member of the wrestling team at Buchholz High School). He attended Healthy Learning Academy early in his life, then First Christian Academy, and lastly, attended Santa Fe High School, where he received the designation 'JP'.
Jonathan truly loved people, especially his family and the large extended family; he had a passion for fishing, the outdoors, weight training, cars, and his Corvette, as well as motorcycles. He also enjoyed lifeguarding at Camp Kulaqua and his job at Whistle Express. Additionally, he was deeply devoted to his girlfriend of over three years, Brinleigh Weghorst. Jonathan never met a stranger; his spirit and sense of humor infused joy into every life he came into contact with. His legacy of love, courage, and resilience will live on in our hearts forever. Memorial Contributions, to help carry on his legacy, may be made in his name to Santa Fe Highschool Weightlifting Team.
We love and miss you, Jonathan. Rest in Heaven with Jesus.
