Jon David Davenport's Obituary
Jon David Davenport, age 49, of Gainesville, Florida passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville, Florida. He was born August 16, 1968 in Leon County Florida adopted by William John Davenport and Peggy Jeffers Davenport-Brooks of Gainesville in October 1969. David was welcomed into the Davenport and Jeffers extended family and their friends. He grew up in a loving family environment which grew larger and close knit as his sisters married. He attended Idylwild Elementary School, Lincoln Middle School and Gainesville High School. He was an avid golfer, and participated very notably in baseball, football, surfing and loved all sports. He interned as a social worker in indigent health care. He also worked as a cook and as a construction carpenter and framer.
He was predeceased by his beloved Father, William J Davenport, who died in March 1999.
Jon David is survived by: his mother, Peggy J Davenport-Brooks; Sisters, Debra Lynn Shaw (Buckley) Alachua, FL and Denise Lea Boothby (Gary) Newberry, FL; Nieces: Danielle Shaw, Gainesville and Baylee Boothby, Newberry; and nephews: Brandon Boothby, Gainesville and Wm. Buck Shaw, U.S. Marine Corps: and daughter Brittany Barrett-Chermok (Husband Nathan/son Weston), Kansas.
We know that you, Jon David, are now free and safe with God for Eternity through Jesus Christ.
A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at 4:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams Thomas Funeral Home Westarea, 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, FL 32669, (352) 376-7556.
