John J. "Johnny" Wester Sr.'s Obituary
John J. “Johnny” Wester Sr. of High Springs, Florida died on Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born on July 5, 1939, in Jacksonville, Florida to Catherine Sapp Wester and EW Wester.
John was a graduate of Santa Fe High School. He served in the United States Navy. After his service, he became a Journeyman Lineman with the International Union of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed his time with his family and raising his miniature horses.
Left to cherish his memories are his wife of 64 years, Geneva Wester: son, Jeff Wester and his wife Polly Wester: Grandson, John Joseph Wester and his wife Ashton Wester: and great-grandchildren, Blake Wester, Brody Wester and Saylor Mae Wester along with numerous nephews, nieces and friends. John is preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sister and his son Daniel Wester.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea 823 N.W. 143rd St. Newberry, Florida with Pastor Doug Cobb. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 P.m. Burial will follow in High Springs Cemetery High Springs, Florida.
