John Robert Weeks' Obituary
John Robert Weeks of Orange Heights went to be with the Lord Tuesday evening, August 19, 2014 at home. John was a lifelong resident of the Hawthorne area and worked as an auto mechanic all of his life. He was of the Baptist faith. John will be remembered riding in his golf cart.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Lee Weeks, parents, Louise and Ernest Milton Weeks; two stepsons, Kenny and Willis F. Melton and grandson, Shawn Wesley Mason. He is survived by daughters, Denise Mason (Ricky) of Orange Heights and Elizabeth Pons (Faron) of Orange Heights; sons, John W. “J.W.” Weeks (Bridgette) of Windsor and Alan Weeks (Martha) of Jacksonville and three sisters, Evelyn Hicks, Louise Redwine and Rose Hicks (Newton); two brothers, Milton Weeks (Pat) and Julian “J.H.” Weeks (Mary). Fourteen grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren also survive him.
Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, August 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m., in The Church at Orange Heights, 16700 NE SR 26, Hawthorne, with Dr. Lonnie Broome officiating. Burial will follow in Saluda Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 24, 2014, 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue.
