Forty-four years of memories my friend, too numerous to count. I will miss you every day and think of you often. You have been a role model for me all of these years and if humor and laughter are some sort of elixir then I have been blessedly overdosed because of you.
Be comforted that you have a great family that loves and misses you dearly. The same can be said of the Gainesville community including friends, fellow colleagues, and the many patients that you have treated.
Take care
Your "buddy"
John

Dr. Waters repaired my son's ACL over 20 years ago & we remember what a wonderful man and surgeon he was. So sorry to hear of his passing, God Bless. Betty & Nicholas Rollison/Lake City, Florida.
Shelley, Stephanie, Brandy and all the family, We are so sad to learn about the loss of such a wonderful man. We will always treasure the memories of many years of volleyball and all the activities of PK Yonge. We remember Steve's solid support and kindness and he sure helped with those all injuries. His gentle, calm presence was remarkable. Please accept our condolences. Love, Julie, Tom, Michelle and Allison Whitney
Dear Shelley and family, we are very sorry for your loss. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Beautifully written obituary...about a very special man and surgeon. Too bad there aren't the words to express his wonderful joyful sense of humor! A couple of years ago I dropped off at the institute a picture of he and Rodger Powell dressed like cowboys sitting together on one sawhorse ,,giggling ! Shelley and family and partners I am so sorry for your loss. Shelley, please know that Steve went to heaven knowing he was loved by wonderful you.......what a gift! Nancy Perry
I knew Dr. Waters when he rotated through our rural health clinic at Mayo, Fla. as a Resident. He was loved by all the staff and patients.
