Mr. John Carlton Vlacos' Obituary
Mr. John Carlton Vlacos, 59, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died Monday, August 26, 2019 at his home, following a long illness.
Mr. Vlacos was born in Gainesville on January 21, 1960. He graduated from Eastside High School, Class of 1978. John worked as a truck driver until his ill health forced his retirement. He enjoyed fishing and gardening, trucks and trains. He grew up in the Gainesville Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his parents; Mack and Carolyn Vlacos of Gainesville; one daughter, Elise Vlacos of Gainesville; three sisters, Judy (Marc) Kirby of Jacksonville, Angela (Darrell) Thomas of Palm Coast and Maxine (Ricky) Beard of Augusta, GA; three grandchildren, Chelsea, Madison and Phoenix Wilson; four nieces, five nephews, two great nieces and one great nephew also survive.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 11:00 A.M., in the Chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street, with Rev. Carl Romey officiating.
