John “Dick” Richard Rosenboom age 86, passed away unexpectedly and went to be with his Lord and Savior on October 20, 2021.
Dick was born on April 15, 1935, in Fairbury, Illinois to Robert W. and Kathryn Muller Rosenboom. Dick grew up in Chatsworth Il. and was the youngest of five children.
Dick was a truck driver and a factory worker while living in Illinois. Dick and his wife Carol moved to Gainesville, FL. in 1973 where Dick had a wallpaper hanging business for decades in the Gainesville area.
He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and very active in the choir, and his Sunday School Class. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid Gator Fan, but most of all loved his family and friends.
He was preceded by his wife of 60 years Carol L. Rosenboom, three brothers, and a sister.
He is survived by his loving companion Pat Thomas; children, Scott R. Rosenboom and wife Kim, Rodney L. Rosenboom and wife Jennifer; six grandchildren, and ten great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Thursday, October 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Westarea Chapel 823 N.W. 143rd Street Newberry, Fl. with Dr. David Chauncey officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Dick’s memory to the Ministries of Westside Baptist Church.
