John M. Galbraith, III's Obituary
John M. Galbraith, III Passed away December 17, 2025, in Gainesville, Florida. He was born to John M Galbraith, Jr. and Effie Hackley Galbraith in Tokyo Japan on July 20,1950.
He retired from the Gainesville Police Department after 28 1/2 years of service from October 29, 1973, to February 14, 2002. He enjoyed hunting and did so all over the United States and Africa. He shot in pistol competitions and enjoyed raising and riding quarter horses with his wife.
John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Darlene L. Galbraith, his Sister Jeanine Cosson, of Panama City, and his brother Winslow Galbraith of Garland, Texas.
He is preceded by his brother Alan Parker.
Graveside Services for John will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at High Springs Cemetery with Gainesville Police Department Honors. A visitation will be on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida 32669
