John Lee Babb's Obituary
On Tuesday, August 22, 2023, John Lee Babb passed quietly away. He has left this world to join his beloved grandparents, Nannie and Pawpaw, his parents, Cynthia and Al Babb, his sister-in-law, Vickie Babb, and all his other loved ones who have passed on, in heaven.
John is survived by his daughter Alison Babb, his son Sean Babb, his sister Cindy Powell, his brother Jim Babb, his former wife Lynn Stephens, and his significant other Alisa Tyler.
John was a graduate of the University of Florida. He was the owner and operator of The Gainesville Gym for 30 years. During that time, he put on many body building shows, and he was also pictured more than once in body building magazines.
John was a computer analyst. He was formerly the Information Technology director for the city of Alachua. A true workaholic, after retirement, John was the owner/operator of Gator Land Computers, where he fixed many people's computers. A generous person, he also often coached people on the phone to fix their own computer problems.
John lived a quiet unobtrusive life. He was cherished by all his loved ones. He was a trusted friend to many.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, October 14, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Downtown Chapel, 404 North Main St. with Dr. Don McGarity officiating.
