Steve,
My thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. I'll always remember Eric's kindness, talent, and love for you-- his brother. He's drumming with the very best of them now. Love to you.

I will miss my brother! He had a wonderful past few months. We were all together at Thanksgiving and Christmas. He flew out to Hawaii with my older brother Steve and Trudy to be with his oldest son Nathan. They had two weeks of fun, laughter and love. Eric has always lived by a different drum beat. He worked for my company for awhile. I wanted him to get into my company but that music kept tapping at him. He loved his drums, friends of all kinds in the music business. Groups, friends even playing with our dad - Doc Hal Bingham, clarinet- my brother old brother Steve and all his jazz instruments. Just wonderful memories. Those 3 playing at Fan Fare Fireworks at The UF Band Shell 4th of July! Also so many memories at St. Augustine , Crescent Beach all the way south to Daytona. He loved my animals from Layla, my Beautiful German Shepherd. She would pull Eric on a skateboard from Briarwood to Unv.of Fl. Or Chance "Chancellor" the Huge Family Horse. Riding Double and laughing! Eric loved both his sons. Nathan the eldest and Jacob who is following Eric in sports! So Proud of them. Remember as I said before Eric lived by a different drum beat. He showed love, kindness, a huge sense of humor. I just have to tell you all thank you for your kind words. I just am in awe of how his friends have come thru with Beautiful Stories. Thank you. And John Eric Bingham just know this- We Binghams Love you Then, Now and Forever! Love your sister Lyn Bingham- Cox I wish we played that Backgammon game! XOXO
Eric and I were best friends when we were little - around kindergarten. We did everything together. I am heartbroken at his loss. My thoughts and prayers to him and his family.
I met 'Bingo' at SFCC when taking graphic design classes. He was instantly friendly and kind to say the least.
Terry and I send our love, hugs and support to all the Bingham’s. We are so sorry to hear about Eric’s passing. His kind, silly and fun loving personality will be missed by all.
We wish you all peace.
How do you say goodbye to a family member and loved one? John Eric moved to Gainesville, Fl. from Columbia, Mo. in 1972 along with the rest of the family in tow-except his big brother. I was a freshman in College @ MU and already had found my soul mate. So 25 years ago-Trudy and I followed the family down to Gainesville.
Our whole family was involved in music, my sisters played the flute in the GHS Marching Hurricane band, my sister Shaun followed with a French Horn in hand, and John Eric-found the drums to his liking. Dad, besides being a MD, also played Dixieland Clarinet while Mom used to play the piano and sing us all to sleep at night!
I myself learned to play the Alto & Tenor Sax, Flute, Clarinet & Bass Guitar. Needless to say when we all wanted to jam, the music was always centered around myself, my father and my brother playing Dixieland. But Eric was always right in the middle of it-providing the rock of time, which he demonstrated with any one of a myriad of musicians in and around Gainesville.
But most of all John Eric was my brother. He would do anything for me. Mainly he helped me with the house hold chores. However, when lightning hit our house and it sparked a fire-Eric was there for the clean-up. When we all got together for the holidays-Eric surprised my wife in doing the dishes. He would blow off my roof, help replace my cedar siding then help paint it. It didn't matter what the job was-he would do it! He was there for me when I was fighting cancer, sitting up all night to keep watch over me, his big brother.
We are very saddened and distraught over losing our little brother. We are still not sure what happened to accelerate his demise in this world. It will be weeks, months, before we know, but his memorials will serve to help us celebrate our little brother's life and those so many of us that he touched as a musician and as a giving human being!
