I am so sorry to see that John has passed away. He was a great guy, I loved working with him at First National Bank. My sincere sympathy to Debbie and his entire family.
I met John when he was a loan officer at a bank in Gainesville. He gave me a signature loan to buy an airplane when I couldn't buy a small pick-up without a co-signer saying he had never lost money on an airplane buyer.
Many years later he rented me an empty plane hangar he owned at Gainesville. And many years after that, no more than a year ago, although he never got to know it, I was the ATCS in the Lake City tower that got to work his taxi and take-off in his beautiful little Aircoupe with a military trainer paint job.
It was always a pleasure to meet and talk with John.
