Joan Teresa Lang's Obituary
Joan Teresa Lang, age 78 of Gainesville, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013. She was born December 16, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois to Anthony and Mildred Husarik Votruba.
Joan was an accomplished violinist, she also played the organ. She enjoyed ice skating and gardening, growing sun flowers and key lime trees.
She is survived by her daughter, Amy (Lee) Barber of Gainesville, FL; son, John (Delilah) Lang of Clearwater, FL and grandchildren, Brian, Joshua and Savannah.
Joan passed away on what would have been her 55th wedding anniversary with husband John, who preceded her in death in 1988 on their 30th wedding anniversary. She was also preceded in death by her sister Delores Cladakis.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, December 5, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., in Queen of Peace Catholic Church with Father Jeff McGowan as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Pinellas Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 9:00 a.m. Those who wish may make memorials to Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 10900 S.W. 24th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32607.
