Joan Craven, peacefully passed away on Thursday, June 18, 2015 at the Haven Hospice E.T. York Care center in Gainesville, Florida. Joan was born in Yonkers, New York on July 14, 1938 to Stephen and Anna Markus. She is survived by Read Obituary
Aunt Joan was a big part of my life growing up and as a young adult. I remember spending lots of time with her and my mom. My first job was with Aunt Joan at Pic-n-Save. They were good times and I have fond memories of her. We all would go to church on Sunday and then to Bagel Land. She helped console me when I lost my mother and I am grateful for that. Peace and love to her family.
This is how I always want to remember you - brown hair all teased into place and always with the lipstick. Shoes and purses to match the shoes. I'll never forget the first time I saw you with gray hair and I thought, "Wow, my grandma is not supposed to grow old!" You make sure Nana behaves up in Heaven and give her a big kiss from me and share a cannoli with her. It still hasn't quite sunk in yet... I'll miss you grandma. Spread your beautiful angel wings in Heaven, you're with grandpa again, and with nana and papa. Love you.
