Jimmie Isaac Ward's Obituary
Jimmie Isaac Ward, 78, of Micanopy passed away March 4, 2016 at North Florida Regional Medical Center. He was born February 14, 1938 to Woodrow Alton and Frances Elizabeth Copeland Ward, Sr. in Adel, Georgia. Jimmie retired from the University of Florida, J. Hillis Miller Health Center after 30 years of service. He enjoyed farming, fishing, visiting state parks, and attended First Baptist Church of Micanopy. He loved his family and friends and his dog, Rosie.
Jimmie was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Mae Ward and brother, W.A. Ward, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carrie Ward; sister, Ila Gail Duncan (Tommy) and brother, Ronald F. Ward, all of Micanopy.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. in Micanopy Historic Cemetery, 401 West Smith Ave, with Pastor John A. Parker officiating. The family will receive friends at the cemetery from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to the American Cancer Society, 2119 SW 16th St, Gainesville, FL 32608.
