Jimmie Ray Poe's Obituary
Jimmie Ray Poe, age 73 of Satsuma, passed away Sunday, April 2, 2017 in North Florida Regional Medical Center. Jimmie was born January 10, 1944 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Paul Jackson and Lois Jones Mathis Poe. He lived most of his life in Hawthorne, just recently moving to Satsuma. Jimmie worked for 32 years for Petroleum Aids and was a member of the Hawthorne Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He enjoyed fishing, restoring boats and being on the water. He was a smiling, friendly person and will be greatly missed.
Jimmie is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sandra Fay Daniel Poe; daughter, Debbie Poe of Hawthorne; son, Jimmie Jr. (Cara) of Hawthorne; brother, Paul Poe of Satsuma; sister, Rennee Stinson Benton (Richard) of Graham and four grandchildren.
A Gathering for family and friends will be held Friday, April 7, 2017 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Wolfson Children’s Hospital, 800 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, FL 32207.
