Jewett Dickson Law's Obituary
Jewett Dickson Law, age 88 of Newberry, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2014 in E.T. York Care Center. He was born July 9, 1926 in Jennings, Florida to Rayford and Nellie Law. J.D. was a professional painter and agricultural enthusiast who lived most of his life on his farm just outside of Gainesville with his wife Mary, an active member of the First Church of the Nazarene in Gainesville and a World War II army veteran. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, whether they were building tree houses or caring for the ponies and bunnies he bought for them. He also enjoyed spending time on the Suwannee River fishing with family and friends and fellowshipping at Suwannee Holiness Camp.
J.D. was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Mary Crews Law in 2001. He is survived by his daughter, Sherli Law McComas (Ron), granddaughter, Heidi Deanne Reichardt, great granddaughters, Brooke and Morgan and grandson, Scott Dickson Law (Cyndi), great granddaughters, Lindsey and Lacey and great grandson, Landon and his son, Randall August Law (Brenda), granddaughter, Jessica Law Cowart (Andrew), great granddaughter, Mari McKensie and great grandson, Riley. He is also survived by brother, Drew Law and sister, Virdi Moore.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 2:00 p.m.in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143rd Street, with Pastor Rocky McKinley officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Central, 4100 NW 39th Avenue, with military honors. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 16, 2014, 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
