Jesse Ernest Blitch's Obituary
Jesse Ernest Blitch,82, passed away on July 13th, 2025, at his home. He was raised in Williston, Florida, served in the US Army and received an honorable discharge. He worked at the Gainesville Police Department from June 9, 1965, until retirement in 1985 as a Detective Sargent. During his tenure at Gainesville Police Department , he was the first to be trained as a Polygraph Examiner and was a member of the Florida Polygraph Association for many years. After his retirement he continued his business, Southern Polygraph, until he joined the State Attorneys Office of the Eighth Judicial Circuit in 1988 as an Investigator. In this capacity he worked in Baker, Bradford, Alachua, Levy, Union and Gilchrist counties and retired from there in 2007. He was a Mason and a member in good standing at Melrose Keystone Heights Lodge 89 in Keystone Heights, Florida. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Keystone Heights, Fl. He composed many songs and sung them at the many gatherings with his Bluegrass and Old Country Music Friends. His instrument of choice was an old Takamine guitar.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Nancy B. Revell-Blitch, three sons William Braxton Blitch (Deanna), John Bradley Blitch, and Lucas Lawrence Revell. Three daughters, Amy Noelle Jusic (Haris), Jessica Anne Schubert (Jon), Amy Olmstead (Jim), and one sister, Roberta Owens. Eight Grandchildren, Tarek, Kenan, Carter ,Avery, Nathan, Finley, Everly and Aden as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John G. Blitch and Janie Markham Blitch, brothers Mitchell Blitch, Clarence Blitch, sisters Jill Carter, Clara Davis, Lora Perryman, Doris Bevil and Verna Santerfeit.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home- Westarea Chapel 823 NW 143rd Street, Newberry, Florida 32669 with a Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., reception will follow. The burial will take place at Forest Meadows Central Cemetery.
