Jerry Douglas Goad's Obituary
Jerry Douglas Goad, age 83 of Hawthorne passed away Friday, November 25, 2022. He was born March 21, 1939 in Squire, West Virginia to Cecil C. Sr. and Edna Pauline Dillon Goad.
Jerry proudly served in the US Marines, he was a Mason and retired in 1994 from his work as a deputy of the Alachua County Sheriff’s Office.
Jerry is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joan Goad; children Norman Goad, Patsy Bertuccelli and Michael Goad; brother, Harold Goad; grandchildren, Laci Minter, Niko Bertuccelli, McKenzie Goad, Madlyn Goad, Mabree Goad and Macy Goad; six great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Cecil Goad, Jr.; sister, Linda Galyen; daughter, Susan Goad; sons, Douglas Goad and Robert Goad.
A funeral service will be held Friday, December 23, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church of Hawthorne, 6680 SE 219th Ter. With Pastor Sharon Surrency officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. https://www.stjude.org/give/.
