Jerome Patrick Moore's Obituary
Jerome Patrick Moore, a loving son, husband, father, uncle, and brother, passed away unexpectedly on February 16th, 2025. Born in Victorville, California on November 12th, 1981 to father CL Moore Jr and mother Susan Dawn Moore, moving to Gainesville in 2001. He attended Edgren High School in Misawa Air Force Base, Japan and graduated from Santa Fe College in 2016. Jerome then went on to attain a Bachelor of Social Work from Saint Leo University, followed by a Master of Social Work from the University of Central Florida. Jerome subsequently obtained a professional license from the state of Florida and began a career as a Medical Social Worker.
Jerome was a deeply caring husband, father, brother, son, social worker, and advocate for breast cancer, meditation, and mental health awareness. He was a follower of Zen Buddhism, and was a Dharma Teacher in Training, helping to lead the Gainesville Chapter of the Gateless Gate Zen Center in since 2009.
Jerome had an extreme passion for science, physics, and astronomy. He spent most of his childhood traveling the world, devouring books, and gazing at the stars with curiosity. Jerome’s favorite concept of physics was string theory, the belief in the reimagining of reality. String Theory is the belief that everything is made up of unbelievably tiny strings of energy, the fundamental building blocks of the universe. That was Jerome, a believer in the underlying connection of all things.
Jerome will be greatly missed by his children, his wife, his family, and his extended community. Jerome is currently traversing the universe and the stars with his mom by his side.
Jerome was preceded in death by his beloved mother Susan Moore, who passed away from Breast Cancer in 2016. He is survived by his two children, son Liam Moore and daughter Ellie Moore, and his wife Nikki Moore, whom he married in 2014.
