Jerome Herman Gold's Obituary
Jerome Herman Gold, age 88 of Gainesville, FL died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in the Clare Bridge assisted living facility, following a long illness.
Mr. Gold was born March 11, 1925 in New York City, New York to the late Nathan and Annie Greenberg Gold. He was a retired New York City Transit Authority subway conductor for many years before retiring and moving to Miami. He has lived in Gainesville since 1997and was a member of Congregation B’nai Israel. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors and traveling. He was preceded in death by his wife Hilda Roth Gold in 1991.
He is survived by two daughters, Anita (Gary) Altschuler and Shari Gold, both of Gainesville, and by one son, Brian (Jackie) Gold, of Freehold, New Jersey; three grandchildren, Robyn Gold, Amelia Altschuler and Morgan Altschuler.
Graveside services were held on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in the B’nai Israel Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street.
