I have just received notice of Jeff's passing and was very sad to hear that news. He is one of my oldest friends in Wright family genealogy.
Jeff and I began corresponding in 2001 regarding his line of descent from Francis Wright who died in 1767 in Amherst County, VA. We were both surprised when early Y-DNA results connected us as distant cousins through another Francis Wright who died in 1690 Lancaster County, VA.
I still have 855 emails from and to Jeff about Wright families of Virginia and my favorite illustrations were always the charts he prepared showing the lines of descent from a Wright ancestor to current participants in the Wright DNA Project color coded to indicate the degree of match to the modal haplotype. So clear, so informative, and always accurate.
Jeff was a major contributor to Wright genealogy and he will be sorely missed.

Dear Jacqueline and family, I am shocked and saddened to learn of Jeff’s passing. I worked with him at NFRMC and then at the Gainesville Cardiolgy and Medical Center. I remember him as a sweet, kind and caring person. Please find comfort in knowing he was loved and admired by many.

Remembering Jeff ... He was a very kind hearted and gentle soul. He touched many lives over the years. Much loved at NF Hospital by all he he encountered. The softness of his voice and his smile. Always helpful. Jeff will never be forgotten. Rest in Peace now my friend. Wanda Sebree Connor
Jackie, I am so sorry to see news of Jeff's passing. I very fondly remember working with Jeff at NFR as we got the cardiac imaging program running in high gear. Jeff was a huge addition to the entire program. His interest and guidance was always welcome. If he said something was wrong, one better pay attention! A nicer guy you could not find. I also appreciated his advice to my fledgling amateur photography attempts.
My heartfelt condolences go out to the entire family.

Jeff was one of the sweetest person that I ever knew. He touched the hearts of all that met & knew him.
Jacqueline and family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Jeff was the sweetest person I have ever known and worked with. I never saw without a smile or joke to offer.
He was kind and gentle and friendly to all.
He loved Peggy's Dodge Dart he bought. She felt it stayed in the family as she thought so much of him.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.
Love
Liz and Peggy
