Jeanne B. Brockman's Obituary
Jeanne B. Brockman, age 95, of Hawthorne, Florida, passed away peacefully on January 11, 2026.
Jeanne devoted her life to education, service, and community involvement. She retired in 1995 from Bushnell Elementary School, after which she remained deeply engaged in supporting education through the Florida Retired Educators Association (FREA). At the local level, she chaired several committees and served as President, Vice President, and District Membership Chairman. Her dedication extended to the state level, where she served on the FREA State Board for nine years—four years as District Director and five years as State Historian.
Jeanne was a faithful member of the First United Methodist Church of Hawthorne. There, she served as Chairman of her Circle for six years and was a member of the Board of Trustees for seven years, giving generously of her time and leadership.
Her other memberships reflected her wide range of interests and lifelong connections and included the Gamma Phi Beta Alumni Association and the Palma Ceia Golf and Country Club in Tampa, Florida.
Jeanne is survived by her three sons: Bryan Rick Walters; Russel John Brockman and his wife, Rene’e; and Scott Brockman and his wife, Sherrie. She also leaves behind five grandsons, three granddaughters, and three great-grandchildren, all of whom were a source of great joy and pride in her life.
Jeanne will be remembered for her commitment to education, her leadership, her faith, and her enduring devotion to family and community.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 10:30 A. M., at the St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, 7919 US 301, Hawthorne, with Fr. Jaison Xavior, celebrant. Interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, Tampa, Florida. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 16, 2026 from 5 to 7 P. M. at the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home, 22205 SE 69th Avenue, Hawthorne.
