Janice Merle Abercrombie Holt's Obituary
Janice Merle Abercrombie Holt of Lochloosa passed away July 20, 2014 at home surrounded by her family after a brave fight with cancer.
Janice was born in Chancellor, Alabama on November 10, 1941 to H.P. and Leila Abercrombie. In 1947 she moved to Winter Haven, Florida and then to Lochloosa in 1968. She started a cleaning business in 1980 called Jan’s White Tornadoes. She retired from Closet Maid and helped raise money for the local fire department and helped anyone who was in need. Janice loved scrapbooking, country music, going to concerts and traveling. She always had a smile on her face and never met a stranger.
She is survived by her husband of over 50 years, James W. Holt, Jr. (Bud); 5 children, James W. Holt, III (Malora), Timmy Holt (Debbie), Robert Holt (Colleen), Rex Holt (Vicki) and Anthony Holt; 9 grandchildren, Tiffany Vazquez-Pacheco (Pedro), Lacey Honeycutt (Adam), Ashley Holt O’Quinn, Jordan Holt, Destiny Cassels, Billie Jean Jenkins, Roxanne Holt, Jacklyn Holt and Savannah Holt and 12 great grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Dallas Abercrombie (Juanita); sisters, Julia Hill (Clifford) and Margie Sowell (Arnold) and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by grandson, J.D. Roberson and great granddaughter, Scarlett Honeycutt.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, July 25, 2014 at 10:00 a.m., in the chapel of WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME HAWTHORNE, US 301 South at Lake Avenue, with Pastor Carly Pearson officiating. Interment will follow in Hawthorne Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 24, 2014, 5:30 to 7:00 pm, at the funeral home.
