Janet Lucille Howard Hastings
November 18, 1931 – August 3, 2016
Janet Hastings was born in Detroit, Michigan to Clyde Howard and Thelma Dawson Howard.
She attended Florida Southern University, where she met and married Peter Embick Hastings.
They lived in Gainesville for 60 years.
Janet was an avid college football fan, and planned her Fall weekends around the Gator games.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete, and son, Frank.
She is survived by her sons, Steve (Norah) of Homosassa, FL, and David (Kathy) and granddaughter, Abby, of Gainesville, FL.
The family will have a private graveside service in Lakeland, FL. For those who wish donations may be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90 Blvd. Gainesville, FL 32606.
