I worked with Janet for the several years as a food safety inspector. Always a professional and a helpful inspector, trainer to the industry she regulated and a wonderful person who will be greatly missed. She was a trusted problem solver for the Division of Food Safety. Janet's contribution to meetings and training session by comments and great food always led to successful outcomes.

My name is Tamara Josey and I work at the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services. I only met Janet once, at a conference, but I could tell she was special to everyone who knew her. I also know she was a polished lady and a fine dresser. Please know that I send my respect and good thoughts to her family and friends.
I never worked directly with Janet while we were both at the Gainesville Police Department, but I always admired her upbeat personality, her on-point comments, and her quick sense of humor. When I think of her being one of the earliest women police officers at the Department, it made me realize that she was one tough cookie with a great heart. I respected her work ethic. When she smiled, one felt all would be just fine. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her forthright and bright energy and her caring soul.
My sincere condolences to her family in their time of sadness. But they should feel proud that Janet touched so many peoples' lives in countless ways that won't be forgotten.

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, Division of Food Safety has lost a true friend. Janet was loved by all and representative the Department with pride and professionalism.
