I just loved Janet. She always was smiling. Wherever and whenever I saw her she had a smile. I just loved her. ❤️🙏🏻

Janet was my oldest sister. She spent many of her summers living with us and I truly loved having her with us. We have had many laughs and tears over the years. She would always get here in late May or early June and would go find all the plants and flowers that were on sale and help decorate our patio where she spent many hours reading and enjoying the birds and flowers. She will be missed. We loved her so much.
Janet was one of a kind. She was my assistant head nurse on 5E when I first became an RN. When i charted on patient charts, Janet would say, "You don't have to write an epistle!" Cracked me up! She did teach me alot of what i know in the nursing field. She was a hard worker and she liked to "whip us (staff) into shape".

Janet was a dear friend and fierce nurse. She was confident and courageous, always standing up for what she believed. I adored her sense of humor and she made work at AGH feel like play. My favorite quote from her is when she gave RN assignments each morning, someone would inevitably ask what she was doing that day. She would look them dead in the eye, push up her sweater sleeves, and reply,
"I had no intention of doing anything when I came in today and I have not changed my mind." Loved her so much....
So sorry for your loss. I worked with Janet for many years at AGH and as a new nurse, fresh out of school, she was supportive of me on 5E. Though she came across as tough as nails, she had a big heart and cared about the work she did and quality of care. She had a great laugh and sense of humor. She would back you up and never berate you.
Janet had no trouble giving it straight to the docs and supported her younger nurses.
She was a mentor to many of us.
RIP Janet

Janet is my older sister. We shared many good and bad times, laughter and tears. Thru it all, she was always there for me when I needed her. I will miss her so. My prayers to you, Scott and Stephen. I love you.
I worked with Janet at AGH I always knew she would help me and give me good advice, it was a comfort to see her come on my shift, I am sorry for her loss.
Janet didn’t “sweat the small stuff”. I see her bustling up an down the halls of 5 East AGH. She taught me nursing an what it was before pumps machines an two nurses for 30 patients. She lived an does her way . I will miss you so much my dear sweet friend.
Janet Dowling was my Charge Nurse at AGH for many years when I was a new nurse. I learned so much from her and enjoyed her wicked humor. She was very dedicated to her profession. Rest In Peace. Praying for her family
