Wasn't she a "Calender Girl " in our school calender?
I remember when Jan and her sisters moved to Archer. Their mother was an "Archer girl". All the Ailstock girls were beautiful. Jan was the youngest. Pam, Patty and Jan were all cheerleaders, and my mother so wanted me to be one too. They spent hours and hours in our respective front yards trying to teach me to do a cartwheel. (That was a minimum requirement to be a GHS cheerleader in those days). I will always remember those teenage days with such fondness - the nights at our Archer summer dances - youth group at church. My love goes to all Jan's family and friends. She was a lovely, lovely person. I am so sad she has left too soon.

Two shorties . As I think back many great shared memories . We always made the end of the line look great,
May your family remember you with love and joy🙏
A few years ago I traveled through Gainesville on my bike and at Janet's invitation, stayed with her and David at their home (which I had known in hs as the Ray Graves house). I hadn't seen her for some years but she made me feel so welcome. We drove around G-ville, walked around GHS and then she hosted a party for David's comparative law class. It was a terrific weekend. Her loss is painful.
So sorry for your loss. Janet was a wonderful lady. Thoughts and prayers are with the family.

I am saddened by the loss of one of my classmates. She brought joy and happiness to all around her. My prayers are with her family.

As the poet John Donne wrote in Meditation XVII, "No man is an island." And since we are all connected, when one person dies, a part of all of us dies. While Jan wasn't a close friend, I did know her during high school.
I feel so sad and affected to hear of her passing. "Therefore, ask not for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee." Rest In Peace, sweet Jan.
