What a joy to see Jim, to speak about every topic imaginable with him, laugh with him and always learn something new. His willingness to share his opinions, tales of travels and experiences, and perspectives about life, family and business remain as a guide for me and I’m sure everyone he knew. Jim will live forever in my heart. I cherish so many fond memories of our times together. He was a coach, mentor, and dear friend--and, oh, so wise with a sense of humor to match. What a character!! I am so blessed to have had him in my life.

I have Jim Korner to thank for some of my happiest memories--because he brought Bobbi to the University of Missouri. When Jim accepted a position managing MU's culinary department, Bobbi applied to MU's Speech Department for a teaching assignment. She and I then became the best of friends, working together as writers, editors, and actresses. Jim was developing his creative ideas about management of university experiences. No matter how busy he was, Jim always had time for family and friends, for church, and for music. Jim's gift for sharing pleasant hours, serious thoughts, and the comfort of a stable Christian faith has enriched life for us all.

Love you so much Bobbi! Jim's finger prints and heart prints are forever imprinted in my life. My amazing memories of my amazing friend would take several books. Jim taught me life lessons as a 19-year old undergrad I use today. His mentoring during my collegiate days at the University of Missouri are so treasured. When I considered accepting a position on campus after graduating, he simply looked at me and with his loving manner said 'it's time for you to fly' and indeed he was right and I never looked back nor forgot his words as I entered a career he unknowingly helped shape with his wisdom, faith, guidance and love. He and Bobbi hosted my graduation celebration and have remained dear friends ever since. Now, my precious friend, may you continue to fly high and mighty. Bobbie, I will always remember Jim being by your side at the many events we both attended during your time at Penn State. His smile was so infectious and he was so friendly and helpful. Your both were so gracious in attending and being a part of the informal service for my husband eight years ago. My life is so much richer for having known both of you.
