James Robert Pittenger's Obituary
James Robert PIttenger, 75, was received into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Monday night, May 8, 2023, after a lengthy and courageous battle with a multitude of health issues.
He is survived by his caregiver and loving wife of 52 years, Debbie; Daughter-in-law, Amy in Sarasota; brother, Larry in Louisiana; sister, Judy in Pennsylvania; sister Sherry in Oklahoma and a sister-in-law Kathy in High Springs.
He is predeceased by his son Ken; mother and father Edith and Harold; brother, Bill; Sister Debbie, and his mother-in-law and brother in-law Lorene, Gilbert and Randy.
In his healthy years he was a Printer Pressman for Sarasota Herald Tribune and several small independent off set print shops in Sarasota, Fl.
Born in Topeka, Kansas he enlisted in the Navy after high school and upon completion of his service to our country he settled in Sarasota. He met and married Debbie, raised Ken and made a home in Myakka City until his health issues began to take hold of his life. Jim and Debbie then relocated to High Springs in 1996.
He was extremely proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS America CV66 during the Vietnam Era from 1966 to 1968
He was an Endowment Member of the NRA, The American Legion for 45 years and Amvets for 32 years.
In honoring his wishes there will not be a funeral or memorial service.
