James "Jim" Montgomery's Obituary
James L. “Jim” Montgomery, 85, of Newberry, Florida passed away July 31,2024.
Jim was born March 11, 1939, in Gilbert, West Virginia, to Jack and Kathleen Justice Montgomery where he was raised until he joined the US Navy as a mine sweeper. Jim took pride in his service to our great nation. He later married LeaNecia and the two spent 48 amazing years together. Jim enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing, and playing with his cat, Blu. He was strong of faith and enjoyed going to church and was a long-time member of the Church of God.
Jim is survived by his wife LeaNecia Montgomery, of the home; his brother R. Neil Montgomery, nieces and nephew, his church family, and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step father Sanford “Sant” Allen.
Family will be receiving friends at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the service
Services for Jim will be held at Williams-Thomas Westarea Funeral Home Chapel 823 N.W. 143rd St., Newberry, Florida on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at 3 p.m. Burial and Military Honors will follow at Newberry Cemetery.
