James Michael Molloy's Obituary
James Michael Molloy, 80, of Gainesville, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at his home. He was born April 1, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland to Francis Xavier and Mary Gertrude Zang Molloy. James graduated from Loyola High School and Loyola College, both of Maryland, with a Bachelor of Science in Physics. For most of his professional career, he worked as a Computer Systems Analyst. James was a church Lector at Cathedral of Mary Our Queen in Baltimore and St. John Kanty Church of Clifton, New Jersey, where he was on the Church Council. He was also an Assistant Boy Scout Leader.
After his retirement, he occasionally worked as a movie and TV extra in the New York metro area for shows such as Rescue Me and The Sopranos. He was a lifelong supporter of Catholic related charities and Veterans Charities as well. He was an avid reader and enjoyed films and theatrical performances.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mary O’Hara Molloy. He is survived by his six children, Nora Gertrude Daly, Thomas I. Molloy, Patrick Francis Molloy, Hugh Martin Molloy, John Devalera Molloy, and Mary Caitlin Arroyo; and thirteen grandchildren, James, Joseph, Maria, Justin, Isabella, Ethan, Liam, John, Stanley, Katherine, Carolina, Fiona, and Evan.
A Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of the Resurrection, 3175 Paulskirk Dr., Ellicott City, MD 21042.
