James "Bill" McAfee's Obituary
James “Bill” McAfee, age 95 of Newberry passed away Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Palm Gardens in Gainesville. He was born October 20, 1922 in Newberry to Clarence M. and Lula Palmer McAfee. Bill proudly served in the United States Army Air Corp in WWII. He retired from the Department of Transportation after 33 years. He was a member of Woodmen for Life, and of Countryside Baptist Church. He was a Christian and he loved the Lord.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Gertie H. Durrance McAfee, and his son, Gary McAfee, both of Newberry.
A Graveside Service will be held Monday, March 5, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in Jonesville Cemetery with Pastor Bill Keith and Pastor Gene Keith officiating. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Countryside Baptist Church, 10926 NW 39th Avenue, Gainesville, FL 32606.
