James Russell Martin's Obituary
James Russell Martin, 93, of Trenton passed away November 15, 2015. He was born July 24, 1922 in Bronson, Florida to Hansome and Bertie Martin. Russell loved hunting, fishing, gardening, farming, and was a great cook. He proudly served his country in the US Army during WWII under General Patton and General Morris. Mr. Martin fought in the Battle of the Bulge.
Russell Martin is survived by his four children, Nancy Otte (Steven) of Chiefland, Linda Kirby (Tim) of Downers Grove, Illinois, Rustie Pendergrass (Dwayne) of Homosassa, Patricia Gardner (Wes) of Crystal River, Florida; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Union Baptist Church, 6259 SE 75th Ave Newberry, Florida 32669, with Pastor Travis Moody officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME WESTAREA, 823 NW 143RD ST, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Hospice House of Citrus County and the Nature Coast, 3350 W Audubon Path, Lecanto, Florida 34461.
