James "Frankie" Lee's Obituary
James “Frankie” Lee, 69, passed the checkered flag and pulled into Victory Lane on July 30th, 2021.
Although unexpected, the end of his race concluded a long and fulfilling life. With his love of cars, a keen ear, natural ability, and snap on tools, he made a rewarding career as a mechanic & tow truck driver.
Frankie was born in Gainesville, Florida on December 13, 1951 to James Manuel and Mayflower Harris Lee, both of whom preceded him in death. He has called Jacksonville, Florida his home and lived there with his wife, Paula Norwood-Lee. The two have been together for 26 years and married the past 4 years. Frankie is also survived by his 5 children, consisting of one son and four daughters: Christopher Davis, of Gainesville, FL, Michelle Law of Richmond, VA, Tracy (Roger) Lozano of High Springs, FL, Savannah Norwood, of Jacksonville, FL and Ashely (Eric) Bishop of Douglasville, GA, along with 10 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
Frankie was one of four children, 2 girls and 2 boys. His brother William “Chubby” Lee, predeceased him. He is survived by his two sisters; Barbara Penray, of Williston, FL and Betty Jewel Martin, of Micanopy, FL.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 5, 2021 at 2:00 P. M., in the Chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, August 4, 2021 from 5 to 7:00 PM, at the funeral home.
