James (Jimmy) William Holley's Obituary
James (Jimmy) William Holley, 57, passed away September 2, 2021, surrounded by his family. He was born June 22, 1964 in Kokomo, Indiana, raised in West Palm Beach, FL then moved to Belleview, FL where he attended Lake Weir High School. He is preceded in death by his parents John Wesley Holley, Sr. and Harriet Layne Gaines, his sister Julianne Holley Nixon, and brother John Wesley Holley, Jr.
Jimmy was a service technician with Ford of Ocala for over 23 years. He was an avid Nascar and Stock Car Racing enthusiast and spent most of his weeknights working on race cars. He loved being at the racetrack and loved racing on dirt. He raced Pure Stock, Endurance, and School Bus Figure 8, but his favorite was “crashing ‘em up” in a Demolition Derby.
He is survived by his son William “Tyler” Holley (Jess), daughter Elizabeth Holley Ray (Cody), brother Jesse Wayne Holley (Velvet), sister Cecilia Holley Taylor, beloved friend Jeannette Woolery, and many nieces and nephews. He was a proud Grandpa to his grandchildren Hudson James Holley, Bailey Michele Ray, and was excited to welcome his new granddaughter “Baby” Ray.
There will be a celebration of life on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 4:00 p.m. at Ford of Ocala, 2816 N.W. Pine Avenue, Ocala, Florida 34475.
