James "Jimmy" Michael Geisler's Obituary
Jimmy Geisler lost his battle with ALS Saturday May 16, 2015 in Gainesville Florida. James Michael Geisler was born in Lynbrook New York, October 15th 1954. He was a resident of UF’s married housing at Maguire Village from 1983 to 1994, worked for Nationwide Insurance for over 20 years, and was also a radiopharmaceuticals delivery driver for Cardinal Health.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Alfred Otto & Susan Moane Geisler, and survived by his three children: Kevin Geisler (Katie), Andrea Geisler & Laura Gay (Lucas), three grandchildren: Corey, Colton and Lydia, and siblings: MaryAnne Armington (James), Theresa Sybert Geisler, Michael Geisler (Helen), Kathy Geisler, Eileen Hermann (Mark), Peggy Geisler, and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to the loves of his life Kevin, Andrea & Laura, Jimmy loved Monty Python and Peter Sellers, and would like to be remembered as: having briefly worked as Peter Sellers stunt double in fight scenes with Inspector Clouseau’s manservant Cato, and having occasionally worked as an officer of the leaw.
Although recently summoned by the banshee and accordingly set off in the Cóiste Bodhar, Jimmy has finally had the come-hither put upon him. He now happily resides with in the comforts of King Brian's home in Cnoc na Síge, playing his fidil and enjoying his dúidín.
He will be missed by all for his bizarre Monty Python and Sellers influenced language, incredible empathy, awesome self-laughing jokes, and very loving heart. Thank you for being an amazing father and "Poppie," we love you so very much!
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, May 23, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., in St Augustine Catholic Church, 1738 West University Avenue with Father Tim Lozier as celebrant.
