James J. Kim, M.D.'s Obituary
James J. Kim, M.D. age 81 of Gainesville passed away Wednesday, November 22, 2023. He was born October 8, 1942, in South Korea to Sun Myung and Min Ja Kim.
He graduated from Kyungpook National University in South Korea. He was an avid golfer and shared many rounds of golf with his wife and friends. He loved airplanes, and anything aerospace.
Dr. Kim worked at Canandaigua Veterans Medical Center, Canandaigua, NY from 1976 to 1997. He moved to Gainesville and worked at Malcolm Randall VA Medical Center until his retirement in 2012.
He is survived by daughter, Jennifer C. Kim and husband Andrew W. Vetter.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 51 years, Jaime O. Kim.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 29, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Downtown, 404 North Main St. His request was to be cremated and he will be buried in New York. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Haven Hospice in his memory. https://beyourhaven.org/.
