James Michael Harper's Obituary
James Michael Harper, 61, resident of Ocala, Florida, longtime resident of Gainesville, Florida, died at his home on Monday, May 12, 2014.
Mr. Harper was a native of Gainesville, Florida, born June 13, 1952, graduating from Gainesville High School, and the University of Florida with a doctorate of Pharmacy. He had worked for many years as the Director of Pharmacy at Munroe Regional Medical Center, in Ocala. Mr. Harper enjoyed many hobbies, stamp collecting, working on and building computers and electronics, making his own fireworks; he was an NRA certified instructor and gunsmith, he continued making his late father’s brand of hot sauce, DasHot! Mike loved his dogs, Mollie and Maggie. He was preceded in death by his father, Osee Harper.
He is survived by one daughter, Kathryn Harper, of Orlando; two sons, Robert Harper of DeLand and Jeffrey Harper, of Tampa; his Mother, Mary Virginia “Sunny” Harper, of Gainesville; two brothers, Larry (Barbara) Harper, of Blackshear, GA, and John (Cameron) Harper, of Atlanta.
There will be a gathering of family and friends on Saturday, May 17, 2014 from 10 A. M. to 12 P. M., in the Williams-Thomas Funeral Home, 404 North Main Street, Gainesville. Private family interment services will be held later
