James Franklin Beckham's Obituary
James Franklin Beckham, age 89, of Hawthorne, passed away Friday, July 3, 2015. He was born October 2, 1925 in Gainesville, Florida to Charlie Franklin and Christian I. Waters Beckham. James was a World War II veteran, having proudly served his country in the US Navy. He was a very active member of Woodlawn Baptist Church.
James was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Nellie Collins Beckham, and three sisters, Clara Mae West, Vivian Smoak, and Lucy Lee Beck. He is survived by his son Michael Beckham (Sue) of Hawthorne; two grandchildren, Robin Miller and Rohry Beckham; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at 10:30 at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 818 CR 20A, with Rev. L. D. O’Steen and Rev. Charles Litzell officiating. Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery Windsor, 13705 County Road 1474. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:30am before the Funeral Service at the church. A reception will follow after interment at Woodlawn Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make memorials to Woodlawn Baptist Church.
