James "Thad" Beck's Obituary
James “Thad” Beck, age 56 of Micanopy, Florida passed away Thursday, February 5, 2015. He was born July 12, 1958 in Topeka, Kansas to James Benjamin and Helen Anita Dixon Beck.
Thad grew up in Micanopy and graduated from Eastside High School. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially spending time with his family fishing at Steinhatchee. Thad passed down many family traditions to his children and grandchildren. He was a member of the Plumbing Pipefitters Local Union 234.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Susan Morgan Beck of Micanopy; daughter, Wendy Beck Ritten (Jimmy) of Micanopy; sons, Justin (Sarah) of Alachua and Matt (Dayna) of Micanopy; sister, Dana Beck Dycus (Doug) of Micanopy; brothers, Tommy (Julia) Hannah of Micanopy, FL, Wesley Hannah of South Carolina; grandchildren, Trey, Chase, Ben, Emma, Morgan, Will, Abby and Matthew.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Beck and brothers, William Jeffrey Beck and Jimmy Hannah.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Flemington Baptist Church, NW 100 Avenue, Micanopy with Pastor Jerry Philman officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery, 11020 NW Hwy. 320, Micanopy. The family will receive friends Tuesday, February 10, 2015 from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at WILLIAMS-THOMAS FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN, 404 North Main Street.
