Jaime "Jimmy" Alicea's Obituary
Jaime “Jimmy” Alicea, passed away on June 22, 2024, at the age of 79.
Jaime was born on October 23, 1944, in the small town of San Sebastian in Puerto Rico. Son of Hilario Alicea and Margarita Molina, he was one of twelve siblings. He worked in the hospitality industry and later provided home improvement services. He had a passion for helping people, and the work he did fulfilled that passion.
As a young adult, he moved to Newark, New Jersey where he met his wife Angela Lopez. In 1974, Jaime and Angela had their first child, Judy. Two years later, they welcomed their second child, Jimmy into the world and shortly after their daughter Jenny. His most joyful memory was that of the birth of his granddaughter, Samantha.
Jaime wore many titles: husband, dad, grandfather, brother, uncle, son, and friend. Jaime loved to be around people and there was never a stranger he didn’t know. He enjoyed the sun while being poolside and gardening, but playing pool and having beers with his friends and family was his entire world.
As he got older, he moved in with his daughter, Judy and his son-in-law, Tony. During the weekends, he enjoyed spending time helping Tony with projects around the house and each year they both took immense pride in decorating the home for the holidays. Christmas and Halloween were their favorites, they truly enjoyed a special bond.
The holidays were a very special time for him. He loved spending time with family and enjoying traditional Puerto Rican food, which was his favorite.
He wanted you all to know that whenever you think of him, “it's Miller time,” so say a toast and thank you for keeping his memory alive. He would say, “I have lived the best life ever and I love you all.”
He is survived by his wife, Angela, his children Judy, (Tony Bevilacqua), Jimmy, Jenny, and granddaughter Samantha. As well as by his children from his first marriage, Jeanette, Jaime and their families.
