Isabelle Jones Henry's Obituary
Isabelle Jones Henry, age 93, of Gainesville, FL passed away peacefully on Monday, October 29, 2018 at Haven Hospice.
She was born Isabelle Gladys Jones on March 15, 1925 in Middlefield, CT. She attended Woodrow Wilson High School in Middletown, CT and graduated with a BS in Health and Physical Education from Boston University in 1946.
She was married to Edward Burton Henry, Jr in 1946 in Middletown, CT then moved to Springfield, NJ where they raised sons Martin and Timothy Henry and a daughter Pamela Henry Miles.
Isabelle Henry taught health and physical education in Union High School in Union, New Jersey for 23 years until the death of her husband in 1987. She was a volunteer at the Springfield Public Library and served as a guardian ad litem for CASA. She enjoyed travel and visited 75 countries with her daughter. She was a member of the Beta Sigma Phi Social Sorority for 25 years.
She moved to Gainesville, FL in 2003 where she resided at the Atrium. She was an active member of the garden club, Knit Wits and Red Hatters. She served as an officer in those organizations.
She was predeceased by a brother, George Jones and is survived by brother, Charles Jones, Jr., sons Martin and Timothy Henry and daughter Pamela Henry Miles of Archer, FL, 3 grandchildren, Glenn, Ross, and Sarah Henry and 4 great grandchildren, Barrett, Brady, Lincoln, and Jackson Henry.
She will be buried at sea in a private family service.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made to Haven Hospice, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, FL 32606.
