Irma H. Elliott's Obituary
Irma H. Elliott, age 101 of Gainesville, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 in E.T. York Care Center. Irma was born August 17, 1916 in Slater, Iowa. She volunteered in public schools for over 30 years in Iowa and Florida. Her passion was teaching children how to read. She was “Volunteer of the Year” in both states. Irma was a member of First Lutheran Church of Gainesville.
Irma was preceded in death by her husband, Orval Elliott and brother, Richard Sydnes Jr. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Yaney; sisters, Norma Pennington and Helen Burgan; granddaughters, Theresa Wilder and Sheryl Strickland and great grandchildren, Leigh Strickland and Tobey Wilder.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., at First Lutheran Church of Gainesville, 1801 NW 5th Avenue. Burial will be in Iowa with her husband.
