Iris Faye Keen's Obituary
Iris Faye Keen, a lifelong resident of the Hawthorne-Melrose area, retiree of the Alachua County School Board and former owner of C&L Feed Store passed away suddenly and peacefully on November 11, 2021 at her home in Campville. She was born in Tampa, FL on July 6, 1942. She was 79 years old.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Keen, Sr. and 3 of her 5 children, Ronnie Keen, Ricky Keen, Robin Keen, 1 grandchild Ashley Keen, her parents, Thomas J. and Thelma B. Shaw, and brothers Harry and Jack Shaw.
She is survived by daughter, Debby (Tony) Johns of Suwannee; son, Rodney Keen of Hawthorne; siblings, Judith Ann (Allen) Carter and Wayne Shaw both of Hawthorne, Keith (Joyce) Shaw of Jacksonville and Tim Shaw of Melrose; 11 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.
She was “GRANNY” to everyone and never met a stranger. Her door was always open to anyone who needed food or shelter. She loved and was loved by everyone. Her presence will be missed.
Services will be Friday, November 19, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Hawthorne, Hwy 301 South at Lake Ave. Interment will follow in Saluda Cemetery, Orange Heights.
