Ira John Hodges Jr.'s Obituary
Ira John Hodges Jr was born on July 9, 1935, in Bell, FL. He joined the Marines in 1955, married Sarah in 1956, and served in the Marines at Camp Lejune through 1960. After his discharge from service, they moved to Archer FL. He worked as a plumber until his retirement from Santa Fe College.
He was active in the First Baptist Church of Archer, where he served as a deacon and participated in the church baseball league. He enjoyed fishing, baseball, bluegrass, old country music, and wood-working crafts.
He is preceded in death by parents Ira and Mary Hodges, sisters Ina Mathis and Rosalie Snelling, and foster daughter Andrea Brabham. He is survived by wife Sarah Hodges, daughters Eileen Hodges and Kathyleen (Lee) Hardage, and foster daughter Paula Rivers.
A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church of Archer on Saturday February 8, 2025, at 11:00 am. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to First Baptist Church of Archer.
