Insaf Makar's Obituary
Precious mom and grandma Insaf Salah Makar, “Soufa” age 87, went to be with the Lord on February 2, 2021 at 9:36pm EST.
Born in Egypt on February 13, 1933 to Saleh Makar and Nageya Doss, she was the 4th of 7 children.
She was a Godly woman of prayer who set a great example for her children and grandchildren.
She always had the gift of wisdom which led many to seek her advice and guidance.
She graduated from Cairo University, School of Science in 1954 with a Bachelor's degree, then obtained another degree in education. As a teacher, she taught Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
In 1959, she was married to Eng. Fouad Sabry. They lived in Heliopolis, Cairo, and had 2 children, Dr. Inas Younathan, wife of Dr. Youssef Wassef, and Eng. Sherif Sabry, husband of Gehane Tawfik. She has 4 grandchildren, Dr. Jessica Wassef, Eng. Rafik Yonathan, Eng. Fady Yonathan, and Christina Wassef.
She lived an active life, where she worked and built her family. She provided loving support to her husband and was a close friend and mentor to her children.
She was loved and respected by her students and colleagues and was a good friend to those she worked with. Early in her career, she excelled and was trusted with senior responsibilities by her leadership. As she furthered her career, she was promoted to work on the board of education as an administrator. She was meticulous in performing any task to the best of her ability. Post-retirement, she continued to serve in the church and she faithfully cared for her mother in the following years.
In 2002, she came to the US and served by helping with her daughter's family who had the blessing of her company. She had a patient and kind spirit whose presence was a gift to her family and others. She was a firm believer and loved to study God's word, reading books, and listening to sermons. She loved to listen and sing hymns.
She was knowledgeable and interested in political and social events, especially those involving Egypt. She was a great cook and enjoyed it. Her favorite hobbies included quilting and sewing.
She is the sister of Dr. Violet Makar, wife of late Dr. Shawky Nagib, Eng. Ehsan Makar, husband of Lilian Makar, and late brothers: Dr. Reda Makar, husband of Terese Aziz, Dr. Karam Makar, husband of late Fawzeya Gendy, Eng. Nagy Makar, husband of late Dr. Nabila Adeeb, and Dr. Adel Makar, husband of Mona Botros. She is a sister-in-law of Dr. Samiha Nathan, wife of late attorney Wasfi Abdelkadous, late Nageya Younathan, late Lily Younathan, late Accountant Ramzy Gergis, late Dr. Ezzat Younathan, and late Taheya Younathan.
She is the aunt of Salwa, Manal, Abeer Reda, Dr. Hany Shawky, Mona Nagy, Michael and Ramy Ehsan, and Dina Adel. By marriage, she is the aunt of Eng. Rita Ramzy, Drs. Janet and Carol Younathan, Dr. Maha Ghobrial and Eng. Rafik Abdelkadous.
In recent years, she was a strong fighter amidst several health challenges; throughout this period, she was thankful. She experienced many of God's miracles and chose to live in steadfast faith and in willingness to submit to God's will.
Our beloved was at peace as she traveled home to eternal rest and joy with the Lord.

Monday, February 8, 2021, at 2:00 pm - Funeral prayer service will be held at Williams-Thomas Funeral Home Westarea Chapel, followed by a burial service at Forest Meadow Cemetery
